iBuild’s Own Sustainable Home

An article I wrote during my internship at iBuild Building Solutions (Melbourne).

Having achieved the 2016 Excellence in Construction Award, the Eastern Innovation Business Centre is truly #officegoals. Here’s why:

1. Security of those who work in the office is a key priority to the management. Not everyone can enter unless they are let in by the friendly receptionist, after they press the eco-friendly rechargeable bell.

2. The building is full of symbolic reminders that it is a sustainable building, which works effortlessly towards being as environmentally friendly as possible. Upon entering the office, we are greeted by an abundance of plants complementing the reception, between two sturdy bicycles that encourage cycling.

3. Bold signs in the dining area act as friendly reminders to office users to help in cutting down carbon emission by re-using cups, as well as the fact that only certified green cleaning products are to be used as the used water is diverted into ponds.

4. Living up to its name, the building is full of uniquely designed furniture and facilities to inspire innovation within the office. The distinctiveness of furniture from the pigeon holes, coat racks, fans, clocks and even lights, positively uphold the sophisticated nature of the interior.

5. The exterior of the building is not to be overlooked. Stylish green stripes adorn the building’s outer infrastructure, revealing its sustainable and innovative nature.
